
This morning I woke up thinking ‘Screw the rum!’ Yes, I hadn’t tried it yet, but sometimes you have to go with your gut; and now, my gut was saying ‘Cabernet!’ I love it. There’s always Cabernet in the house and all the other ingredients were ready to go. Wrong! There was just one problem…Dave. Unbeknownst to me, Dave drank all the damn Cabernet last night. Now I gotta make a trip to Trader Joe’s. Wait a minute! Dave’s gotta make a trip to Trader Joe’s.
After adding the Cabernet to the dough, I took a little taste. I gotta admit…that’s the flavor I was looking for: dark, rich and complex. Now, there’s nothing wrong with the flavor of the Cognac-infused cookie from Part 2, on the contrary. It was great, the flavor just didn’t fit my profile.
Cabernet, why didn’t I think of it sooner?
